What I wanted for CHRISmas - The Self Esteem Queen's POST CHRISTMAS Blog

Hey gang,

Happy Sunday. While I am mentally preparing to be a guest on the wonderful "The Authentic You" Blogtalk Radio Show this afternoon, I figured I would get caught up on my blogging.

My great Twitter friend @BellaDonnaForte wrote a blog about what she wanted for CHRISTmas, and I wanted to also do the same. Unfortunately I am sometimes called to do other things and since my assistant doesn't write my blogs for me, this was put off until I had time... Okay, I just had a minor surgery that requires me to sit and not be out so I am FORCED to write...it's hard to do when you haven't done it in so long....weeks go by and I feel the pain of putting my fingers to the keypad because I have so much to say.

MY ONLY WISH : Picture with Santa Clause
First, BIG SHOUT OUT to my FAVORITE people in the World: The Farmacy in Westwood and The Farmacy in Venice. Thanks to Susan over at the Westwood Location, I was able to take pictures with Santa Claus this year - 1st time ever! I was so excited and so touched...Here I am a 30 year old kid who just wants to sit on Santa's lap and I can go to the people who HEAL my body and see Santa too - some people think my life is too good to be true; I say I am just blessed!

I am an avid fan, lover, and believer of all things that are REAL... You never know how much people care about you until the time comes when you have to put it all on the line....It was NOT EASY to tell my personal business to you all let alone people who I see on a regular basis that I barely knew. I am SO GLAD I made the decision to allow Susan, Bill, and the GANG get to know me better. To be edified is a feeling I have missed and feel so loved to have by this great group of people.

What "World Aids Day" really means to the Self Esteem Queen

Greetings and Happy Tuesday!

Yesterday was World Aids Day, and I took some time to reflect on a friend of mine who died at the age of 16. She was a very close friend who was killed and I tell story in the upcoming re-release of my book, "Dear Diary: A Letter to My Sister". In honor of World Aids Day, I am going to give my readers a sneak peak into the life of a 14 year old.... Take heed to my TRUE STORY, and ask yourself do you really know what's going on in the life of your teenager and their friends...

Dear Shellie,

They found Mêlée dead today. 16 and HIV positive. I used to go joyriding with her when she stole cars. Does God accept people like us in heaven? Are there teen runaways in heaven, or do we all go to a different place where we are pimped for eternity?

They found Mêlée dead today – in a pool of blood she lay. Naked on the side of the freeway 16 and HIV positive. The story right now is that her boyfriend found out that she was HIV positive and killed her because she did not tell him and he found out from one of her church members. Still, if he found out that she had HIV did it mean he had to kill her? What gave him the right to do that? Then people wonder why others live their lives never letting anyone know that they have it.

I wanted to cry out, “Mêlée” and save her. I wanted to turn back the hands of time and make her come trick with me. Maybe I could have saved her life, because that’s no way to die, and this is no way to live. I’m sorry Mêlée. I’m sorry I couldn’t be there to wipe your tears away and protect you even though you were older than me.

They found Mêlée dead today. She was 16 years old and HIV positive. RIP Mêlée.

I am working on something special for me readers. Stay tuned. Make sure you take some time out to acknowledge those who have passed away from AIDS. You never know if the person next to you is infected, and that's REAL TALK....Do people say that anymore?
